Don't Let Halloween Malware Turn Your PC into a Nightmare

Halloween can be spooky enough without being tricked into opening the Internet door to some seriously ghoulish intruders. One of the most notorious phishing scams lured Halloween fans into downloading a dancing skeleton. The subject lines sounded fun, but once dancing skeleton hit the desktop life was not sweet. Malicious botnets invaded computers and snatched personal information faster than you can say "Trick or Trojan."

The scary malware tricks don't stop there. Paris Hilton at your Halloween party? Not too likely. Under the guise of a Paris Hilton video is a Trojan designed to download adware onto your computer. Does Superman really have an email message for you? No! It's a backdoor Trojan that invades computers disguised as Superman. But this is no superhero—it's a super villain designed to let a hacker remotely access your computer to change or delete files and perform all kinds of frightening operations.

There's no need to let Halloween hackers try to pull a fast one on your computer. Double check your security software status and make sure your Trend Micro Internet Security is up-to-date so you're ready for whatever cyber-vampires try to sink their fangs into your PC this Halloween.
