Mac OS X Targeted by DNS-Changing Trojan
A DNS-changing Trojan, disguised as MacCinema Installer, is targeting Macs by tricking users into downloading a QuickTime Player update. Users are prompted to download the update (i.e. malware) when trying to view online videos with certain IP addresses. If infected, the victim can be redirected to phishing sites or sites where other malware can be downloaded. The Trojan also enables the attacker to monitor the affected user's activities. Mac users are protected by Trend Micro™ Security for Mac and Smart Surfing for Mac—thanks to our Smart Protection Network™.
